We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jonathan Sheldon as our Music Director from January 2008.

Jonathan has a wide experience of directing choral and orchestral performances in Northamptonshire and Leicestershire, from Come and Sing days in Oundle and Thrapston and Church celebrations in Leicester, to a Millennium Songs of Praise at Nene Park Football Stadium in Irthlingborough, which involved recruiting and directing a choir of 300 and massed Salvation Army Bands. He now takes Kettering Camerata under his wing, in addition to Wellingborough Orpheus Choir, where he has been Music Director for the last six years, substantially enriching the musical experience of the choir.

Jonathan brings enthusiasm, energy and commitment to the choral groups he works with, building on his musical education at Eton and Corpus Christi College Cambridge, choral and orchestral conducting courses at Canford Summer School, and most recently with the Association of British Choral Directors. He takes real pleasure in increasing the musical confidence of individual members of his choirs and their overall competence. He is also a keen part time cellist, enjoying string quartet evenings and playing on an occasional semi-professional basis with local ad hoc orchestras. Professionally, Jonathan is self-employed in sales and marketing, based in Kettering, helping Brides and Grooms with their wedding plans through The Wedding Guide and running wedding exhibitions throughout the East Midlands.
